I was being super super careful about watering and trying to get the soil dry in between watering. Here is my mizuna growing indoors. Still little babies but going strong...

Mizuna...as you can see the soil is dry |
But look at my sticky yellow tape fly catcher...

Ewww..... |
I will continue to try to control my watering and add a little neem to the water. It is actually not too bad...but still. I just don't like bugs...especially in the house.
Great to find your blog. I live in Baltimore too and have small vegetable garden. This is my second year of gardening. I have plenty of stuff already... that's from my greenhouse. I will start to follow you, you may help me to have even better garden. Ivana
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! Good to meet other Baltimorian gardeners:)
DeleteWhen I started seedlings indoors I had the gardest time getting ride of those disgusting fungus gnats! It was particularly satisfying killing them directly with rubbing alcohol. Instant gratification! Die fungus gnats, die!
ReplyDeleteI tried a bunch of things, including neem... but they are just so hard to get rid of. Or at least for me they were.
I'll have to try rubbing alcohol....I can't get rid of them completely either. They are still buzzing around but I think the tape and neem helps control them a bit. At least this is what I tell myself.
